Ingredients

  • 1 15.25-ounce box spice cake mix
  • 1 21-ounce can LUCKY LEAF® Apple Fruit Filling
  • 1/3 cup Musselman's® Apple Butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Musselman's® Apple Butter

Directions

  1. Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F. Reference cake mix box for appropriate pan size. Grease pan.

  2. Step 2
    Combine dry cake mix with can of apple fruit filling, 1/3 cup apple butter, and eggs (do not add oil or water). Stir well.

  3. Step 3
    Bake for the amount of time directed on box of cake mix. Cool cake.

  4. Step 4
    Blend cream cheese, butter, confectioners sugar and 4 Tablespoons of apple butter until smooth. Spread icing on cooled cake

    I have made this many times. I usually bake in a bundt pan. I slice the apples as I prefer smaller pieces of apple in the cake. It’s super delicious.
