This is both delicious and easy to make, especially on a hot summer day when I don’t feel like turning on the oven. The creaminess of the filling with the sweetness of the cherries is just delectable. And the cookie crust – yum! This is my new go-to recipe for parties, because everyone just gobbles it up.

What kind of chocolate cookie do you use for the crust?
Has anyone made this with a graham cracker crust?

    1. Laura Hauser says:

Our test kitchens used the Oreo brand of prepared chocolate cookie crust. We feel a graham cracker crust would work just as well.

  9. Sharona says:

Delicious!! It has become a request holiday tradition

  10. Glennis says:

I made 2 this morning. Can it be frozen?

    1. Newell Rinehart says:

Yes, but we suggest that you freeze without the cherry filling on top, as the cherry filling may become crystalized and start to separate.

  11. Linda says:

I tried this recipe several times. Each time with a different pie crust. The pecan crust, chocolate crust and the walnut crust. Every time it was a “BIG HIT!”. Now I’m being begged to make it..
