What others are saying about this recipe

  1. Carol Powell says:

Strawberries are one of my favorite foods and this recipe really looks easy to make.

  2. Richard Ginn says:

Can you cook slow cooker cake in oven?

    1. Lucky Leaf says:

Yes, you can make this in the oven. It is a simple crisp. We’d recommend melting the butter and thoroughly blending with the dry cake mix first. The pie filling is already cooked, so just bake the dish until the crisp topping is a texture you like.

  3. Sharon says:

Can you make this in a instapot/ pressure cooker?

    1. Musselman's says:

Yes, although we don’t have the exact cook time in a pressure cooker. The fruit filling is already cooked, so just cook until the crisp topping is an acceptable consistency.

  4. Kathy Bradley says:

I tried this and the box says to cut butter and lay it on top of came mix. Well it didn’t really cook that way. Even after the time it said to cook there was still dried mix parts were not edible.
It make much better since after reading these directions to melt butter and mix with the cake mix then put on fruit filling
    Thanks for listening

  5. Ann says:

The flavor is good but I could not find an 18.25 oz of cake mix. Duncan Hines and Pillsbury make 15.25 oz. I melted the butter and added to the cake mix and it was not crumbly; it was completely wet dough & I had to spoon it over the strawberries. Maybe less butter. I’m baking it another hour in hopes to get some crispness.
